
Few dedicated families along with Pastor Jacob Thomas committed themselves to establish a new congregation. Therefore this year marks the beginning of a fresh chapter in their spiritual journey.

A thorough search was conducted to find land for the church. A suitable property was identified in Collectorate Colony, Aminjikarai, and with contributions from church members and well-wishers, the land was purchased in August 1978. With great anticipation and for creating a spiritual home of worship, the construction project finally commenced.

The congregation relocated to the newly built church, seating 75 people, with a one-bedroom parsonage.

The church launched its first outreach ministry in Vysarpadi, Chennai.

The Church building was extended, and the parsonage was constructed on the first floor.

An additional 10-foot extension of the church was introduced

A fellowship meal was introduced every Sunday following Church services and asbestos-free roofing was installed in the church parking area.

The Church strengthened its educational ministry for children by initiating a structured Sunday School classes in affiliation with IPC Chennai Central District and by adopting a systematic curriculum from IPC Kumbanad, Kerala.

The "City Mission" of IPC Zion Assembly, Aminjikarai, Chennai was formally inaugurated, commencing with a Christmas celebration titled "Joy to the World". Furthermore, in September 2019, the Tamil worship service was officially initiated.

Digital media support was introduced to enhance church services.

The church challenged youth to introduce more transformative programs for spiritual, mental, and social enrichment, resulting in daily online prayer fellowships, monthly youth retreat, mission trips, and counseling initiatives.

The India Pentecostal Church of God, Zion Assembly, Aminjikarai, Chennai was formally registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860, as a branch church of Indian Pentacostal Church of God.
